Connie Converse - How Sad, How Lovely LP
$25.00
Connie Converse, the 1950s singer/songwriter who mysteriously disappeared in 1974, was commemorated in 2009 with the compilation, How Sad, How Lovely. Now Third Man Records has reissued this collection of her charming folk songs with sweet alto vocals. The reissue features 20 tracks and includes the previously unreleased “House” and a new remix of “Playboy of the Western World” by Dirick Cummins. How Sad, How Lovely is a gentle set with melancholy moments, cheerful lilts, and clever lyrics. Highlights include the swooning "Roving Woman" and the lively "Down This Road," which, like many of these, sounds like a familiar old folk classic.
